An anniversary, a shared cultural space
Created to mark the 50th anniversary of China–UK ambassadorial diplomatic relations, the Hunan–UK Exchange and Cooperation Photo Exhibition was jointly hosted by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Hunan Provincial People’s Government and the British Consulate-General Guangzhou. MGC organised the project and developed its bespoke online exhibition.
From online opening to public access
An online opening ceremony was held on 7 December 2022, connecting representatives and partners in Hunan, the UK and Lincolnshire. The exhibition opened free to the public on 8 December. MGC’s work brought event organisation, visual content and the online visitor journey together.
More than 200 photographs
The exhibition records visits, cooperation and shared milestones, alongside landscapes from Hunan, the UK and Lincolnshire. Thematic browsing and Chinese–English photo descriptions let visitors explore each image and its background at their own pace.
Photographs and films in one experience
A shared entrance leads to the photo and video exhibitions. A timeline of exchange and cooperation, together with messages from friends in both countries, adds moving-image narratives to the photographic collection.
A distinctive visual journey
Architecture, landscapes and colours associated with Hunan and the UK shape the visual design. Continuous visual transitions, topic selection, clicking and swiping connect the content into an online exhibition experience. The short demonstration below combines deduplicated animations from the original articles; it is not the full exhibition film.
Visit the historical exhibition
The original exhibition period was 8 December 2022 to 26 January 2023. Its historical content remains accessible at the updated online address. Close the retained New Year greeting, select the entry arrow, close the foreword when ready, and choose the photo or video exhibition. Mobile visitors should use landscape orientation.
