The Yongjia School Digital Hall is located in Wenzhou Yongjia, the birthplace of the Yongjia School. With the Yongjia spirit of "balancing righteousness and profit, and applying learning to practical affairs" as its core, it creates a modern digital exhibition hall integrating academic display, digital interaction, and immersive experience. The hall contains six themed areas in total, including a prologue hall and an epilogue hall, using interactive wristbands as the narrative thread to connect six major chapters: "Entering Yongjia — The Learning of Yongjia — Foundation at Fenglin — The Scholarly Lineage of the Zheng Clan — The Fertile Land of Nanxi — Contemporary Value." At the entrance, visitors receive an interactive wristband corresponding to one of four sages — Xue Jixuan, Ye Shi, Zheng Boxiong, or Chen Fuliang — and use it as a "proof of mentorship" to begin a journey of inquiry spanning a thousand years.

Digital Intelligence Interaction · Highlights

Mentorship on the Wrist — Wristband Interaction

Mentorship worn on the body, running through the entire hall

The wristband runs through three key interactive points in the hall — the digital screens, the enrollment ceremony, and the dialogue across time. Wearing the wristband, visitors enter the exhibition area as "disciples of a certain master," can activate deeper dialogue in front of the figure screens, complete a master-apprentice ceremony in the academy, and listen to the sages' messages in the epilogue hall. The wristband is both an identity marker and the narrative thread connecting the entire exhibition.

A Single Thread Through a Millennium — The Development of the Yongjia School

A thousand-year scholarly lineage, threaded as one line

Using a waterfall-flow visual foundation, visitors touch sensing points on the tabletop to unlock, layer by layer, five key nodes in the development of the Yongjia School, from its emergence in the Northern Song, its flourishing in the Southern Song, to its revival in later eras, transforming the academic lineage into a clear and readable temporal narrative.

Meeting the Sages at the Screen — Digital Screens

Ink washes gradually appear, the sages reveal themselves

Six digital screens present six sages — Zhou Xingji, Zheng Boxiong, Zheng Boqian, Xue Jixuan, Chen Fuliang, and Ye Shi — in an ink-wash diffusion style. When no one is interacting, they loop in standby mode; the image gradually becomes clear, the figures gain color, and keywords of thought and biographical introductions emerge, presenting a narrative transition "from hidden to revealed."

After visitors wear the wristband and trigger the sensor, each of the six sages offers a maxim — Zhou Xingji speaks of resolve, Zheng Boxiong of self-discipline, Zheng Boqian of frugality, Xue Jixuan of foundations, Chen Fuliang of pragmatism, and Ye Shi of moral character — accompanied by corresponding movements, completing the narrative progression from "observing their form" to "hearing their words."

Entering the Academy — A Day in the Academy and Desk Interaction

Preparing gifts and choosing a teacher, watching the film and receiving words

This space is modeled on a Song dynasty academy. Visitors become young students and complete the "learning from a teacher" enrollment ceremony at the desk — visitors can wear the interactive wristband and trigger the sensor to automatically become a disciple of the corresponding sage; those without a wristband can also manually choose a teacher and likewise complete the ceremony. Then, an infrared sensor triggers a film, in which the digital human Ding Changqi leads viewers through a day at the Zuijingtang Academy. After viewing, visitors go to another desk to receive a sage's message card, completing the full narrative loop of "choosing a teacher — receiving instruction — obtaining words."

Cards Carry the Way of Mentorship — Messages from the Sages

Cards as medium, receiving parting words

The six sages become six MBTI personality cards — six personalities, six expectations. Whichever card visitors draw symbolizes inheriting that master's personality foundation and intellectual propositions, and they receive the master's message across a thousand years. Visitors can also scan the card content to take it with them.

The Zheng Clan's Financial Wisdom — Essentials of Financial Management

Taking and giving with measure, managing finances for the people

This exhibit centers on Zheng Boxiong's idea that "wealth is the state's vital mandate" and Zheng Boqian's principle in The Book of Great Peace and Statecraft that one should "regulate expenditure rather than regulate income." Visitors become Southern Song fiscal officials and face three game levels — accounting and allocation, prioritizing affairs over profit, and balanced choices. The three interactive levels feature different playful mechanics and lead to five endings — the official who loves the people, the official who enriches the treasury, the official who economizes, the tax-gathering clerk, and the draining clerk — with commentary quoting the Zheng brothers' sayings, completing a cognitive elevation from "the technique of financial management" to "the Way of financial management."

Messages Across the Void — Dialogue Between Ancient and Modern

Ancient sages appear today, inheriting the way of mentorship

In the exhibition's final chapter, the interactive wristband once again awakens the corresponding sage. The digital human appears — offering concluding words and expectations, like a teacher's parting exhortation, like an old friend's message across the void. This spiritual handover across a thousand years is the exhibition's conclusion and also the beginning of an ongoing dialogue with visitors. Though the ancient sages are far away, their words still echo in our ears; though the exhibition ends, their thoughts accompany you onward.

Practical Statecraft Ever Renewed · Xishan Reaches Far

The Yongjia School Digital Hall is not only a digital space showcasing the Yongjia scholarly lineage, but also an attempt to "transmit the Way through technology." It uses contemporary technological means to translate the millennium-old spirit of practical statecraft, allowing visitors to complete a transformation from "visitor" to "inheritor" through role immersion. In the future, MGC Digital will continue to deepen content development and technological iteration, exploring more possibilities for cross-media narrative, bringing the millennium-old cultural lineage out of the exhibition hall and into daily life, and letting the spirit of "steady step by step, words that can be put into practice" shine anew in the digital age.
