When a thousand-year sports heritage meets modern digital technology, what brilliance will bloom?

In November 2025, the Guangdong Sports Museum, located at the "living fossil of Lingnan sports culture" — the Guangdong Provincial People's Stadium (Dongjiaochang) — officially opened and is free to the public. MGC Digital, with professional technology and innovative concepts, deeply participated in the venue's multimedia digital construction, creating an immersive sports culture experience space that is "perceptible, playable, and memorable" for visitors.

The Guangdong Sports Museum has a total floor area of 7,318.79 square meters, systematically presenting the thousand-year development from the Tang Dynasty "Yuewu Hall" to modern sports. Its collection includes precious items such as ancient sports artifacts, modern and contemporary witnesses, and intangible cultural heritage folk remains. During project construction, MGC Digital focused on the core need of "technology empowering cultural inheritance," with key participation in the digital presentation of three core areas, bringing history "alive" and making the experience "new."

I. ✨ Starry Art Space ✨

In the prologue hall's "Starry Art Space," we provided technical support for the red Möbius strip ribbon surrounding the entire venue. Through a customized electronic screen dynamic control system, one hundred "firsts" in Guangdong sports history are presented in smooth animation form. Complemented by the starry lighting above and the light-and-shadow interaction of themed sculptures, the interweaving of virtual and real intuitively conveys the spiritual core of Guangdong sports: "breaking limits and surpassing oneself."

II. ✨ A Millennium of One Field ✨

In "A Millennium of One Field," we used 3D modeling to help restore the architectural appearance of three eras: the Tang Dynasty "Yuewu Hall," the late Qing and early Republic "Provincial Stadium," and the modern "Guangdong Provincial People's Stadium." As light and shadow flow, the changes of the thousand-year venue and the evolution of urban sports life are vividly unfolded.

The "Champion Matrix" exhibition area is a "popular check-in spot" in the museum. It centrally displays the championship moments of thirty-five Olympic champions from Guangdong from 1984 to 2024. MGC Digital, through scene restoration and dynamic restoration, allows visitors to "travel back in one click" to the championship scene, immersively feel the shock of the championship moment, and experience the sweat and dreams behind the gold medals.

III. ✨ "Glorious Chapter" Theater ✨

The immersive theater on the third floor — "Glorious Chapter" — allows visitors to watch the opening ceremonies of important events such as the Olympic Games, Asian Games, and National Games from a different perspective. Standing in the viewing space, visitors seem to become part of the opening ceremony, able to witness up close the important moments that influenced China's sports development.

From project launch to final presentation, MGC Digital always advanced its work with high standards and strict requirements, overcoming challenges such as limited historical materials of the venue and multi-system coordination, ensuring that every digital presentation precisely fits the Guangdong sports spirit of "daring to be first and striving to be number one."

In the future, we will continue to deepen our work in the field of cultural digitization, using technological innovation as a pen to inject digital vitality into more cultural venues and landmark projects, allowing cultural heritage to radiate stronger vitality in the new era!
