When LEDs become flowing ribbons and projections condense into shining gold medals, light, shadow, and artifacts interweave to tell the passionate story of Yiyang, the “cradle of badminton champions.”
The Yiyang Museum special exhibition “Cradle of Champions: A City’s Badminton Legend,” created with the participation of MGC Digital, breaks away from traditional static displays, using multiple multimedia technologies to create an immersive viewing experience and bring the glory of the badminton court into the museum gallery.
Step into the exhibition hall’s introductory space, and the first glance is stunning!
Instantly, you fall into a brilliant galaxy.
The ceiling uses LED light strips to create a giant ribbon that slowly extends across the entire top of the introductory space;
The LED starlight ceiling at the top is not a simple starry sky. The light strips outline the shape of a gold medal ribbon, with points of starlight slowly flowing, fully heightening the atmosphere of the space.
Below, projections simultaneously show images of gold medals from the world’s most prestigious badminton events, with the LED ribbon visuals and projected medal content playing in synchronized linkage.
World Championships, Uber Cup, Olympic badminton gold medals…
One by one, gold medals from badminton’s top events slowly appear in light and shadow, intuitively presenting the highest honors of the sport’s major world competitions.
Look up to flowing ribbon light and shadow; before your eyes are shining virtual gold medals. Upon entering, you are immersed in the glorious moment of a champion’s coronation.
Along both sides of the corridor, lightbox screens display, one after another, the achievements of Yiyang-born badminton world champions such as Tang Jiuhong, Gong Zhichao, Tian Qing, and Jia Yifan.
